The founder of Inside Sportfishing, Michael Fowlkes has fished his entire life. Here he is showing off a few Bonita, caught on bone jigs, during a half-day trip onboard the Westerner running out of Davey’s Locker in 1959. He’s on the left, pictured with a couple of friends and his grandparents, Col. A.R. “Ott” and Charlotte Giesen. He used to filet every fish and sell them to neighbors for .25 cents each. Michael began working as a pinhead on the Westerner when he was only nine years old.

After six years as an Owner/Operator Michael made the move to television production as a producer for Showtime/The Movie Channel, the Disney Channel and CBS Sports, delivering a number of ACE Award winning programs with Coach Pete Carroll, LaDainian Tomlinson, and comic specials featuring Bob Saget, Howie Mandel, Pee-wee Herman and

After years of dealing with the insanity that’s Hollywood, Michael decided to get back to his roots, and formed Michael Fowlkes Productions as a way to return to his passion for fishing.
In 1989, Inside Sportfishing premiered, which became the longest running, highest rated fishing series in the history of Fox Sports West.
Broadcast for 27 consecutive years, the series was also delivered nationally on the World Fishing Network.

As the vision for the new Inside Sportfishing became a reality it was clear that a technology leadership position within the company was critical. After searching the entire country for a partner, ISF found Richard Cullen right in our own backyard.

Richard has over three decades of experience in enterprise wide programming and development for companies like SpaceX, BBC, Anheuser-Busch and his latest employer Schneider Electric. As of July 2018 Richard has been brought on board as a Partner and Chief Technology Officer and has been the lead programmer for Inside Sportfishing's reservation system. His skills will expand the reservation system for landings, re-designi and programming the Inside Sportfishing Mobile App and
developing new products, such as, integrating the reservation system into Quick Books, Human Resources
and payroll, boat maintenance and haul out expense tracking just to name a few.

Richard brings a new level of skill and expertise to Inside Sportfishing, as well as, tremendous customer service, training proficiency and sales and marketing acumen. He is gifted in being able to take the most complex technical subjects and explaining them in laymen's terms that all can understand. Clearly he is a great addition to the Inside Sportfishing team.
