Since my boyfriend was so embroiled in your book, I though I'd better read it too. Amazing. Just finished reading - was absolutely glued to it. I thought pirating was mostly limited to Somolia...WOW!

I bought the book to read during my trip on the Red Rooster III. Figured it would last the entire trip. Started reading it after we baited up, again, figuring it would put me right to sleep, but once I started reading, I couldn't stop. Read all night and, no one's going to believe this, but everyone on board will swear to it, when we had our first jig strike the next morning, I didn't even put it down to fish! I had to find out what happened to them. Read it cover to cover, non-stop. To say I love the book is an understatement. Best book I've ever read in my life.

I LOVE your book. My goodness, the suspense is incredibly addictive. This is really, really a good book. I read about 2-3 novels/month, so I have strong opinions on what I read, and this is an incredible read. You are a wonderful author. You really have a talent, and I look forward to another exciting, suspenseful story. I'm proud to tell everyone to read it, and our library to get it.

"Couldn't put it down. Loved it. I could actually feel the waves rolling beneath the hull reading it. So descriptive. Anyone who loves boats, fishing and romance, or is looking for a spell binding, action adventure novel, you can't go wrong with Flawed. Can't wait for it to come out as a feature film."

One of the most captivating books I've read in a long time. Didn't want to put it down. I've fished most of the areas in the book so I have a mental image also. Could have been me getting hijacked.

I picked up your book to see the style and had to have Tina stop me so I didn't finish reading it non-stop.

Your style is open, accessible, suggestive, hot, knowledgeable in subject matter, and realistic and expressive of emotion. This is definitely a good book... In fact, I would say it captured my attention faster than any other book I have read in years, and I read a lot!

I would love to see this become a movie. Once again, Congrats on one fine book!

I loved the book. I typically only read nonfiction (mostly history) because I’m a geek. But, I do read a hell of a lot more than I let on, because playing the stupid Jarhead roll simplifies my life.

I found “Flawed” unique in that it’s neither fiction or nonfiction. However, the reader cannot easily distinguish which parts fit either category. Reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson without LSD and flying lizards…

I wasn’t surprised by the prose used in describing the very sensual scenes, because you’re a dude… But, I was surprised by the raw emotions so vividly conveyed. The frenzy of an Albacore bite, anglers running all over hell, reels back-lashing, asshole customers, lawyers you want to punch out, heartbreak, despair, loss, love, fear, friendship. Damn, brother! There were times I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Not that my armchair book review is worth a bucket of midget piss, but I hope you continue writing. If for no other reason than it has a high CDI (Chicks Dig It) factor…and you’re fricken good at it.

Let me know when the next book is ready. I can hardly wait. Long plane rides can’t always be filled with issues of Guns & Ammo.

Michael, I just want to say Thank You for Flawed.

There aren't any books that fulfill fisherman's hearts.

I can always pick up FLAWED and start on whatever chapter I want. Truly may you find the time to write another one.

There are many books written about baseball, football, basketball, golf but not any like this for fishing.

As our season ends, it's time to put the rods and reels away, await the next season, and for many of us, a time to relax and enjoy re-reading this book.

Best Wishes, Art Revuelta

I saw my daughter reading it, and asked her about it. She said it was one of the best books she'd ever read. Having just finished it, I couldn't agree more. I hung on every word. Wonderful characters in such a realistic and believable story. Brilliantly written, with profound insights into what it takes to keep love alive in a relationship. All I want to know is when are you going to write the sequel.

Loved the book. Couldn't put it down. Thinking the entire time what an awesome movie it would make. Such an intriguing, suspenseful story. Totally fresh and original. A cross between Jaws and the Perfect Storm with lots of steamy romance and great sex. When are you going to write the sequel!

Studio E proudly announces the release of the new action adventure, suspense thriller, FLAWED. Written by Michael Fowlkes, Executive Producer of the Fox Sports/ Inside Sportfishing television series, FLAWED is an E-ticket ride that’ll keep you simply won’t be able to put down.

Similar to Jaws, the back-story builds slowly, but once they get onboard the boat and hit the water, the action becomes virtually non-stop.

Young romance, passion, and greed provide the framework for a voyage of discovery through the stormy seas of loss and betrayal. Exquisitely written, the richly textured settings of the Seattle waterfront, to the commercial docks of San Diego, and the beaches off Cabo San Lucas, blend to create the settings where innocence meets evil when the crew of a charter fishing boat find themselves entwined in an international sex slave operation.

Sleazy characters, dockside strip clubs, kidnapping, rape and murder are only a few of the challenges facing the young crew.

“This is a modern day Hemingway’s Old Man and the Sea, meets the Perfect Storm.”

Fowlkes will be available for First Edition signings at the Long Beach Convention Center, Fred Hall Fishing Tackle and Boat Show/Inside Sportfishing, March 3 – 7.
