CROCODILE BAY LODGE is the newest fishing and adventure tour lodge to hit Costa Rica. Located on the Southern Pacific Coast on the Osa Peninsula, and tucked inside the large Golfo Dulce, Crocodile Bay offers anglers a wide variety of inshore and offshore fishing adventures.
The Fishing Experience
Hop aboard their new 32 foot Strike or one of their new 27 foot Rambo inboard center consoles for a scenic 30 minute run to the blue water for Sailfish, Blue, Black & Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado and Tuna. It's common to raise 10 to 15 Sailfish a day with over 50 on a spectacular day. Offshore fishing is available all year with the months of December through May being best.
The offshore fishery is prolific on conventional gear but this area is probably one of the finest blue water fly fishing spots in the world. The captains have been trained in all IGFA fly fishing rules, and many of the crews foresee multiple new world records coming from their offshore program.

As for equipment, anglers should consider 14 & 12 weight rods for the billfish and 10 or 11 weights for the Dorado. Preferable lines are 300 to 500 grain shooting heads, as well as a good forward weight floating line. To date one of the most successful offshore fly patterns has been the Cam Sigler style offshore fly in pink and white. For the Dorado, Super Clousers in all colors seem to work very well, as do deceivers and any of your larger offshore patterns. Most anglers prefer to bring their own rods, but for those who wish to travel with nothing more than their clothes, Crocodile Bay has a full complement of Orvis rods with Vortex reels, as well as G.Loomis equipment. Crocodile Bay also keeps on hand all of the necessary fly patterns and tying equipment

Consistent annual water temperatures between 80 and 83 degrees insure that inshore fishing along the coastline, flats boat fishing the estuaries and surf fishing is good all year. For the first time in Costa Rica, exclusively at Crocodile Bay Lodge, you can fish in back country flats boats. You can quietly maneuver through the many rivers and mangrove estuaries that feed the great Golfo Dulce. Fly fish, spin or cast in the nooks and crannies of this beautiful mangrove back country for Snook, Snapper, Barracuda, Corvina and a wide variety of sport fish. The areas within the Golfo Dulce are some of the prettiest places an angler can fish in the world. Jack Crevalle, African Pompano, Bluefin Trevally, 3 varieties of Snapper, Bonita and Barracuda can be consistently taken by visiting anglers.

Lodging and Facilities
Crocodile Bay Lodge is a first class resort, adjacent to some of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. It sits on its own 44 acres of tropical gardens. The lodge structures are strategically located throughout the landscaped property with the main building housing the restaurant, bar and reception area. The main lodge also has a tackle and gift shop, where one can purchase inshore or offshore fishing lures, made on the premises, as well as locally made gifts of all kinds.
The pool and jacuzzi were designed utilizing the unique property characteristics including waterfalls and jungle environment. They are conveniently accessible to all guests. The lodge is staffed by friendly, English-speaking and well experienced personnel guaranteed to make your stay an exciting and unforgettable adventure.
After a day on the water, or returning from the thrilling adventure tour, enjoy your favorite cocktail or beverage at our open bar, take a relaxing swim, dine in our elegant air-conditioned restaurant or walk through our tropical gardens and feed our friendly crocodiles. Watch and listen for the sounds of local wildlife. At any given time you may see one of several species of monkeys or other mammals and crocodiles. You might even see a large parrot or what is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful birds in the world, the scarlet macaw.
The air-conditioned rooms are spacious, each having two queen-sized beds and a private deck. Every room is uniquely decorated with the local "Tico" flavor. All rooms have hot water and are a two-minute walk from our pier which houses our own fleet of boats. Wake up each day and fall asleep each night to the different tropical garden aromas, accompanied by a virtual orchestra or jungle-life sounds from any of a number of exotic birds and parrots, or perhaps from a howler monkey as it makes its way through the nearby jungle, right on our property.
Most lodges are satisfied with a simple cook, however, as food is a big part of the Crocodile Bay Lodge experience, we have secured Chef Joe Lynberg to provide our guests with the finest blend of local and American cuisine. Each day Joe will prepare a variety of dishes including fresh fish, chicken or beef, with the guests' only dilemma being which to decide on.
Our well-stocked bar will provide you with local beers and national drinks as part of your package price, with imported liquors and cigars available at a nominal price. If you wish, these additional purchases can be charged to your room with payment at departure.
Both the restaurant and bar have been beautifully constructed utilizing the very popular local lumber stocks of "Cristobal" and "Cara de Tigre" or Tiger Face as it would be translated into English.
