Inside Sportfishing Pro Staff - Bill Markland
I was born in Torrance ,Calif. in 1951. I started fishing with my Grandfather, my mentor at the early age of 4. He was not only my fishing mentor but also my live mentor. As I got older my love for fishing deepened. In the early 70s I was living in Mammoth Lakes Calif and Sun Valley Id. That’s when I started fly fishing, something I still have a love for and now looking to catch my first mako on the fly.
Now after living out of state for nearly 30 years my son and I have moved back to my roots. Southern Calif. I now spend most of my time on the water fishing for Makos and learning better ways for catching them and releasing them unharmed. Over time I plan on sharing with all of you the different ways of fishing and releasing these beautiful fish. I also, as a former chef will be giving you helpful tips on preparing your catch, if you decide to keep a fish for the BBQ .But please remember to limit you kill and not to kill your limit.
Please at anytime you have a question on mako fishing, or how to prepare your fish for the table feel free to drop me a line and I will help you with anything that I can. I also will help you with keeping your knives sharp as I am a meat cutter and have been around sharp knives for way too many years.
As a member of the Inside Sportfishing Pro staff I am here for you and to help make your fishing trips more successful from start to finish.
